Can you really taste that sprinkle of cinnamon on your latte, or does the aroma alone enhance the experience? Eyes wide with excitement, the addictive scent draws you in, warmth spreading from your lips and flowing through your body like a wave. The energy shifts in the room as you radiate happiness. Fear no longer exists as you walk out the door and slide into the backseat of a black SUV.
"Thank you for the lemon cake. It smells and tastes divine!" you yell down the hall to the former Chief of Staff's wife, while simultaneously memorizing the safe combination scribbled on the piece of paper just handed to you.
Later, after charming your way into an Invite Only rooftop party, you pass out shots of cognac to your new friends, swaying to the music. Muscular arms wrap around your waist, pulling you into a kiss. "You clean up nice", he teases. But suddenly you pause, remembering the Amex card you swiped from a man stepping out of his Lambo. The same card that paid for the dark satin dress hugging your frame. "I'm just an elementary school teacher... how did I get here?" you wonder.
The handsome man pulls you in for another kiss, his honey lavender scent clouding your thoughts. Naxos?
Then, behind the tall DJ booth, shielded from view, a sniper riffle is tossed in your hands. Instinct kicks in as you perfectly aim, firing a single shot from the rooftop into the 20th floor hotel suite across the street. The music drowns out the sound of the bullet piercing through the glass and into the target's skull. "We have 15 minutes before they check on him; let's get to that safe", he whispers.
The sun rises, spilling light through the window; the sheets lightly smell of incense and warm spice from last night's Cavort. You sit upright in a panic. Did I just recover stolen classified intel for a top secret agency last night... or was it just a dream? Trying to recall yesterday's events, your memory quickly fades as you search for the Notes App to type out what you remember. Emails, social media notifications, and calendar reminders flood in; the thought slips away. As you finally rise and walk to the next room, you have a craving for a cinnamon dusted latte.
The fragrances featured in this Scented Story, and those that inspired it, each conceal notes of cinnamon. Do you find yourself lost in the addictive spice?
